Manaslu circuit trek begins by sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu to trekking in the beautiful Manaslu region. While on the trip we get to marvel at the magnificent views of Mt. Manaslu (8163m), the eight tallest mountain in the world, coupled with a chance to witness the rich local heritage and biological diversity of the region.
The highest point in this trek is the ‘Larkya La Pass’ which is widely believed to be one of the most dramatic pass crossing the Himalayas. Like all Himalayan Glacier’s itineraries this trek also ensures adequate time for proper acclimatization. Much of the trek involves walking on mountain trails, and is within the capabilities of people with good cardiovascular fitness. Still, it is important to note that trekking at altitudes above 3,000m/10,000ft is more demanding on the body than walking at low elevations.
With its remoteness and secluded solidarity, it is believed to be in stark contrast to trekking in the Annapurna region making ‘Manaslu Circuit Trek’ a first choice for those who prefer to become one with nature.

All Meals on full board basis will be served during manalsu trekking whereas only breakfast will be served in Kathmandu. During trekking, three meals a day will be served from the tea house or lodge menus or local homes. Each day's dinner and breakfast are taken in the same place that we stay the night. Lunch will be taken in a tea house on the way to the destination. Please know that the Manaslu region does not have a well-established tourist infrastructure as in the Annapurna or Everest region (and this is the main attraction of this region). Therefore, a variety of foods will not be available or possible. We mainly eat Tibetan bread, dal bhat, tsampa porridge and other simple local foods. Himalayan Glacier suggests we be ready for a remote experience.
We will be accommodated in Yatri Suites & Spa or Similar in Kathmandu and tea houses during the trek. Note that the Manaslu region is a newly developed trekking destinations therefore the facilities in the teahouses will be very basic. All accomodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement is available and will cost an additional amount of USD 290.
Manaslu Circuit Trek usually requires 5-6 hours of walking everyday and some days even up to 8-10 hours- such as in high passes. Himalayan Glacier suggests we get prepared with about 12 km of walking or jogging exercise every day before 3 months of our Around Manaslu Trekking Trip so we will be able to walk in physically demanding high-altitude conditions and remote areas for many days for hours at a time. To join the Manaslu Circuit and to complete it successfully and enjoyably, we must have: lots of willpower, ability to tolerate harsh conditions, very high level of fitness and good health. Medical and evacuation expenses are the responsibility of the participant. It is also important that we consult our doctor for vaccination and other medical requirements for our trip.
Manaslu Circuit Trek itinerary is planned with high degree of awareness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Going up at higher altitude too fast causes a medical condition serious enough to kill. Higher the altitude, lesser the oxygen in the air. For example, at an altitude above of 5000m, there is 50% less oxygen than at sea level. Therefore, our body needs many days to adapt the less-oxygen environment. Our manaslu circuit itineraries generally allow sufficient time to acclimatize. So, for a safe trek, it is absolutely essential to allow sufficient time for acclimatization. Sensible planning is therefore required to minimize the risk of AMS. Himalayan Glacier advises especially the guest(s) with known heart, lung or blood diseases to consult their doctor before traveling. Mild headaches, fever, loss of appetite or stomach disorders are symptoms of AMS. Check out "Altitude illness" by Dr Jim Duff. Himalayan Glacier's itineraries are designed to try to prevent AMS as much as possible.
