Capture the breathtaking grandiosity of the mountains while you walk on the snow and make memories to be cherished for a lifetime, Langtang has it all for you. The trek comprises of scenic beauty throughout the trail ranging from steep hillsides of bamboo and rhododendron to sprawling yak pastures and finally an alpine impasse framed by 7000m peaks. The Langtang region is the third most populous trekking area in Nepal but relatively is a quieter trail.
You take off from Kathmandu and head towards Dhunche, Raswua by bus and finally stop at Syabrubesi. The trek begins here as you make your way to Lama Hotel followed by the Langtang village. Around 50 beautiful houses spread here over a flat piece of land amidst mountains, the Langtang river, grazing horses, yaks and sheep: the picturesque village is beautiful. Further 3 hours trek from here takes you to the beautiful small village of Kyanjin Gompa with stone houses covered in a thick blanket of snow. You find yourself surrounded by a 360 degree view of snow-capped mountains and the cold breeze of accomplishment will surely leave you spellbound. In the morning you visit Tserko Ri for mountain sunrise view and return to Kyanjin Gompa only to head downhill towards Lama Hotel.
The trek ascends the Langtang Valley from just 1470m at Syabrubesi to 3870m at Kyanjin Gompa, past ever-changing scenery and Tamang villages to a collection of high alpine pastures, glaciers and peaks on the border with Tibet. The trail offers exceptionally diverse scenery and culture. The superb day hikes from Kyanjin Gompa in particular offer spectacular close-up views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers of Langtang Lirung (7246m), Kimshung (6781m) and Langshisha Ri (6370m).
