Five-year tourism master plan in Rukum

RUKUM: A five-year master plan is to be drawn up for the identification, development, promotion and publicity of tourism destinations in Rukum district.

The District Development Committee (DDC) Rukum and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) are formulating the master plan.

An NTB team with consultants has arrived here in this connection. While in Rukum, the team is scheduled to visit and carry out a feasibility study of all the major tourism destinations in the district.

“We are mainly here for identifying the tourism destinations for formulating the master plan,” said Khadga Bikram Shah, a senior official at NTB who is also on the team.

The NTB team will be visiting places in the district which are important from the point of view of geographical location, religion, history, culture and natural beauty.

In this connection, the team held an interaction programme in the district headquarters, Khalanga, recently.

After the interaction with the district-based stakeholders, the team has prepared a list of about 150 tourism destinations in the district.
