Frequently Asked Questions

The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek costs USD 6,235 per person. This premium journey includes stays at exclusive luxury mountain lodges, 5-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, guided trekking with experienced local guides, private transfers, domestic flights (as per itinerary), permits, and other inclusions outlined in the package.

The final cost may vary if you request itinerary customization, private departures, or additional services. Contact Himalayan Glacier for the latest availability and a personalized quotation based on your preferred travel dates.

The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek runs 13 days from arrival in Kathmandu to final departure, including a Kathmandu city tour, 6 days of trekking in the Annapurna foothills, and a wildlife safari extension in Chitwan National Park before flying back to Kathmandu.

Only 6 of the 13 days involve actual trekking, with the rest devoted to sightseeing, transfers, and the Chitwan safari.

The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is a relatively easy trek suited to most fitness levels, involving 5 to 6 hours of walking per day over gradual uphill and downhill trails at low altitude. No technical skills or mountaineering experience are required.

The trail stays below roughly 2,000m (6,562ft), which keeps the walking accessible even though the daily distances add up over 6 trekking days.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times for the Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek, offering stable weather and the clearest mountain views. Winter is possible but colder, while the summer monsoon brings rain and reduced visibility.

Because the trek stays at lower elevations, it remains walkable across more of the year than higher Annapurna routes.

Yes, the Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is ideal for first-time trekkers, combining gentle trails with luxury lodge accommodation. It is a popular choice for families with children, honeymoon couples, leisure travelers, and even seniors up to around 80 years old.

The trek also works well as a comfortable refresher for more experienced trekkers who want scenery without the physical demands of a high-altitude route.

The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is best suited for families with children, honeymoon couples, leisure-focused travelers, and older travelers who want authentic Himalayan scenery without roughing it. Himalayan Glacier designs the trip around comfort, private transfers, and premium lodges rather than physical challenge.

Guided departures run regardless of group size, so solo travelers and couples can join without waiting for a minimum number of participants.

Altitude sickness risk is minimal on the Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek because the route stays at lower elevations in the Annapurna foothills, generally under 2,000m (6,562ft). The denser oxygen levels at these altitudes mean acclimatization days are not required.

This makes the trek a safer, lower-risk option compared with high-altitude Annapurna Base Camp routes that climb above 4,000m (13,123ft).

Trekkers need the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and a TIMS card to enter the region, both of which Himalayan Glacier arranges as part of the package. No restricted-area permit is required since the route falls within the standard conservation area.

Permit rules can change, so it is worth confirming current requirements with Himalayan Glacier before departure.

The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek uses Ker & Downey (Mountain Lodges of Nepal) properties along the trekking route, with premium hotels in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. Rooms are twin-share with attached bathrooms and hot showers, a step up from standard teahouse trekking lodges.

Solo travelers can request a single room for an additional supplement, though single rooms become harder to find at higher points on the trail.

The signature highlight of the Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is overnighting in the Ker & Downey luxury lodges, each positioned for close-up views of the Annapurna massif, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), and Hiunchuli. Traditional stone-and-timber architecture and attentive service set these lodges apart from standard trekking accommodation.

Villages like Ghandruk and Landruk add Gurung cultural immersion alongside the mountain scenery.

The Chitwan National Park safari extension pairs mountain trekking with a lowland jungle experience, including wildlife viewing and a stay at a premium resort in the park. It is a distinctive add-on that few other Annapurna trekking itineraries include as standard.

This combination of Himalayan trekking and Terai wildlife safari is a core part of what distinguishes this specific Himalayan Glacier itinerary.

Yes, solo travelers can book the Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek, and Himalayan Glacier guarantees departures regardless of how many people join. Solo travelers are charged a single supplement of approximately $900 for a private room throughout the trip.

Single rooms are easiest to arrange in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, and less certain at higher points on the trekking route.

The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is shorter, lower in altitude, and far more comfortable than the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, which climbs to 4,130m (13,550ft) over 8 to 11 days of teahouse trekking. This trek trades summit-style scenery for easier trails, premium lodges, and an added Chitwan safari.

Travelers wanting the classic base camp views and a greater physical challenge should consider the Annapurna Base Camp Trek instead.

Meals on the Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek are prepared at the Ker & Downey lodges and include a mix of Nepali and international dishes, generally of a higher standard than typical teahouse fare. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included throughout the trekking days.

In Kathmandu and Pokhara, breakfast is provided at the hotel, with other meals left flexible for travelers to explore local dining options.
