The highest point is Kala Patthar at 5,545m (18,192ft), reached on Day 10. Everest Base Camp itself is at 5,364m (17,598ft), visited on Day 9.
The trek begins at Lukla (2,860m) and gains altitude gradually over 8 days. Two mandatory acclimatization days — at Namche Bazaar (3,440m) and Dingboche (4,410m) — are built into the itinerary following the “climb high, sleep low” principle to reduce altitude sickness risk.
