A short answer is yes! Many hikers who have trekked to Everest base camp in the past were smokers. But, for obvious reasons it is better that you quit smoking before gearing up for the trek. The oxygen levels at high altitudes begin decreasing which may cause difficulty in breathing. However, if it is hard for you to quit, then as long as you are in good overall health, it should be fine for you to do the trek.
