Generally, ascending the mountainous trail higher than 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) will increase the possibilities of getting altitude sickness. Above this altitude, we always recommend our clients not to ascend more than 500 meters (1,640 feet) in a single day’s hike. Even if you try to proceed an extra 100 meters (328 feet), your chances of getting hit by altitude sickness will escalate. And, this instruction is applicable to people of all ages.
