Climb Baruntse, acclimatize at Mera and trek into the beautiful Sherpa valley of Khumbu

On our Baruntse Expedition with Mera Peak Climbing, we climb both of the mountains. However, our main focus is on climbing Baruntse, and Mera Peak climbing is expected to ensure that we are well prepared for our ultimate climb. Mt. Baruntse is located between Lhotse and Makalu at the epicenter of three glacier valleys including Barun, Imja and Hunku. The mountain was first ascended by Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow in 1954 by the South-East Ridge. However, the steep sections of ice at 50 degrees and a prominent ice cliff at about 7,000 meters make the South-East Ridge of Baruntse a somewhat difficult climb. Therefore, we choose a more accessible and popular alternative via South Ridge. This route also gives us the opportunity to acclimatize and climb the Mera Peak (6476m/21,246ft). We make two high camps above the Base Camp – Camp I just below East Col at an altitude of 5,700m and the Camp II on the South-East Ridge at a height of 6,420m. The Baruntse Expedition with Mera Peak Climbing also includes a few days trek into the scenic heartland of the Khumbu region. Throughout our journey we are rewarded with exceptional views of the Himalayan vista.

Luxury Lodge Everest Base Camp trek, amazing company! Amazing from start to finish! Excellent communication as we planned our trip. Our guide, Pradeep met us at the airport, and we were extremely well cared for by him and the team, from beginning to end. The trek, accommodations, food and other inclusions were wonderful, but even better was that we truly made friends with our porter, guide and even the owner of the company. Truly a life-changing experience, and one I would recommend to anyone!
Great experience and wonderful job by the Himalayan Glacier team! I have recently done a private Everest Base Camp trek, organized by the Himalayan Glacier team. The team has done a wonderful job! I would like to start by thanking Rayuna, who is an adventure planner at the company and has been my principal contact before I arrived in Nepal. Rayuna has been amazing every step of the way, from planning and booking to answering all the questions and providing all the necessary information for the trip. It has been particularly challenging since the trip was first scheduled right before the pandemic, and we had to move and re-schedule several times following changes in covid restrictions. I was very glad to be able to also meet Rayuna in person in Kathmandu and thank her in person. Now to the actual Nepal experience. Everything was very well organized and worked like a well-oiled machine. My guide Sudar was great all the way to and from the Base Camp. He took care of everything along the way. He was also great at balancing what we needed to do to complete the trek in time with letting me move at more or less my pace, so I can pause to take that extra photo or just take a look at the magnificent scenery around me or slow down a bit to allow my body to acclimate to high altitude as we kept ascending to the Base Camp. Sudar was always there to answer any additional questions and share a joke. I also would like to mention our lovely porter - Bir - who always had a smile on his face! This trip would have been so much harder without the guidance of Sudar and the help of Bir to carry our stuff. As much as I tried to limit my load to bare necessities, the duffel bag still had some serious weight to it. So, thank you Bir! Overall, I had a wonderful trip - magnificent views of the majestic Himalayas, great food all along the way, and lovely people around. Thank you very much to the Himalayan Glacier team for their help organizing the trip! I am definitely coming for more!
EBC Trek Would recommend this company to anyone and will be using them again in the future myself. My guide Subash and Porter Suman were critical to me reaching the base camp, I couldn’t have done it without them. Himalayan Glacier was also quick to answer any questions I had and were extremely helping through the whole process

Mount kilimanjaro I just completed the Mount kilimanjaro climb organized by Himalayan Glacier. I was supported by a fantastic guide Fromance. He ensured my safety and took me on several additional walks at the various huts where we stayed. We had fun and very interesting adventures. The rest of the team included a fantastic chef, Yona, who created spectacular dishes including a celebratory cake for us after finishing the climb. I would highly recommend anyone considering this climb to go with Himalayan Glacier
The trip of a lifetime! This was such an incredible experience! It is so difficult to describe just how majestic and breathtaking the Himalayas really are. Every single day of the trek I found myself humbled by the scale and beauty of the mountains. Himalayan Glacier absolutely outdid themselves in terms of providing us with a trek that was organised, safe, fun, and most importantly, successful in making it up to Everest Base Camp! Our guide Homnath was friendly and knowledgeable, and our porter Bhakta was such a gentle and kind man. They both helped make our trip so easy and special. I'm so so pleased that I booked this trek through this company. I think it's really important to support the local community by using a guide and Himalayan Glacier provides a comprehensive end-to-end package that gave me total peace of mind through the entire trip (from landing in Kathmandu to leaving to go back to London).
3 Passes Trek with EBC Had an amazing time trekking with Himalayan Glacier and especially my guide Ashish. The service was excellent and far exceeded expectations. Really, it was more than I could have ever imagined from start to finish. Everyone I met with and talked to at Himalayan Glacier were so kind and friendly and answered all my questions and provided great feedback about other parts of Nepal also. If you're thinking about trekking in Nepal I would highly recommend using Himalayan Glacier

Khopra Ridge - fabulous trek! Trekking to Khopra Ridge was an amazing experience! It is a little off the beaten path, which we appreciated. Not crowded at all. We felt like we had the mountains to ourselves. The trek was hard, make no mistake. But we expected that, and were delighted to challenge ourselves...and make it! We had the very best guide in all of Nepal: Pradip. He was young (30) but very experienced. He started over a decade ago with Himalayan Glacier as a porter, and is an accomplished, professional guide. He spoke excellent English and his knowledge of the terrain, culture, mountains, flowers, trees...was exhaustive. We also had the very best porter in all Nepal: Arjun. Retired from the Nepal Army, he had travelled many of places as a UN peacekeeper. He had an infectious smile and was such a great encouragement. Slow, slow, you can do it! We chose Himalayan Glacier very deliberately. We wanted a Nepalese owned company. Everyone at HG was super. They arranged every detail and everything went smoothly, from airport pick up to departure. We would both recommend Himalayan Glacier. If you want a great Nepal experience, with a Nepalese company, they are the company for you! Thank you Pradip. Thank you Arjun. Thank you HG. Hope to return and see you all again. Grace and Abbey

An awesome experience The beautiful scenery, people and culture of Nepal and the Himalayas made this trip one of the best that I have done, and I have travelled abroad a number of times. Spending time exploring the mountain villages and being amongst the locals going about their normal business was a delightful experience and the memories are now etched in my mind. The tour company, Himalayan Glacier, made the trip so easy and trouble free. From airport pick to drop off at the end of the trip I did not have to worry about a thing. The flight to Lukla, all accommodation and meals during the treck were arranged for me so I could could simply enjoy the treck in a hassle free environment. I had a large menu to chose from at all places and the food was delicious, especially the Sherpa vegetable soup. I'm planning to go back and do the Everest Base Camp treck next year with Himalayan Glacier. I strongly recommend planning to stay in Kathmandu for a few extra days after the treck in case of inclement weather delaying the flight out of Lukla. I was lucky and caught my scheduled flight but quite a few people were delayed for 1 day and 2 days as safety is paramount.
Wonderful Nepal Adventure We had a group of 5 and wanted to spend 3 weeks exploring Nepal. They designed a route that fit what we wanted to do! Than after reaching EBC, which was our big goal, Suresh our guide was able to change our plans at our request! We had wanted to do Gokyo Valley but decided to slow down and get away from the popular areas. We visited some less traveled trails with amazing views! They took super good care of us all the time.

Himalayan Glacier
Baruntse & Mera Peak 2016

This is my second trip with Himalayan Glacier.

I joined Himalayan Glacier for Island Peak and Lobuche in 2015. It was very well organised and I had a successful and fun trip. The staff were fantastic. Everything went smoothly right from the moment I was picked up from the airport to the end of the expedition. The guide was very helpful and humble. I have joined expeditions with other companies (International Mountain Guides, Adventure Consultants etc) and I must comment that the Nepali Sherpa guides are definitely more helpful and willing to go the extra mile.

I have decided to join Himalayan Glacier again this year for the Baruntse expedition. As we couldn't find any other members willing to join the expedition, I ended up being the only client for this expedition. Himalayan Glacier was willing to organise it for me. Again, everything went smoothly and I had a very successful expedition up Mera Peak and Baruntse. I had 2 guides assigned to assist me up Baruntse and they have been very encouraging. They were helpful, patient, encouraging and paid close attention to our safety. The guides and staff of Himalayan Glacier made this expedition possible and a success. The owner of Himlayan Glacier, Mr Naba, himself liases direclty with his clients and listens to our needs and concerns.

A few things can be improved.
1. The choice of meals available at the guesthouses
2. The choice of guesthouses offered to clients

The team at Himalayan Glacier have done a wonderful job! Thank you.
