In very simple words, a teahouse trek is simply hiking during the daytime and relaxing at a standard lodge or a teahouse at night. Likewise, a luxury lodge trek is hiking during the daytime (at your own pace) and relaxing at a luxurious hotel/resort with most of the facilities of comfort. In Nepal, luxury lodge trek is not possible at all destinations. Because at remote locations, there is no availability of luxurious resorts or hotels. However, standard teahouses or hotels are available at almost all trekking destinations.

The major difference between a teahouse trek and a luxury lodge trek is that the latter properties are professionally managed and have a consistent higher level of service. These luxury lodges have gardens, comfortable dining room, and bedrooms with attached bathroom including hot shower and western-style toilet.
