Nepal Army Set To Clean Six Mountains In 2021

Six mountains are set to be clear in 2021 by the Nepal Army, they are longing to clean several majestic mountains of Nepal such as  Mount Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Makalu, and Mt. Dhaulagiri.

By cleaning the base camp and the area above it, the army supposed to collect and clean 35 tonnes of garbage around the region. Meanwhile, Nepal Army has confirmed that 18 tons of waste from above the base camp is targeted to clean.

According to Nepal Army, the campaign will start from13 April with the climbing and cleaning unit. For instance, the initiative will conclude on the 5th of June at World Environment Day.

Moreover, Nepal Army has announced that helicopters and ground transport will carry the non-perishable waste to the capital. Brigadier General Shanttosh Ballave Poudyal, a Nepal Army spokesperson, told on Friday.

“There will be 43 climbers from the Nepali Army along with Sherpa mountaineers and other guides, “The cleaning will be done in the base and above in all the mountains.”

After segregation, the non-biodegradable waste will be carry out for Kathmandu via helicopters and other vehicles to recycling facilities.

Meanwhile, according, Brigadier Poudel, the total cost for the 2021 mountain cleaning campaign is US$1.07 million.
