Kailash Tour via Simikot is an excellent journey to Mt. Kailash whereby we experience trekking in one of the most remote western parts of Nepal before entering Tibet. We arrive in Kathmandu and spend a day resting and preparing for the trip and fly to Nepalgunj, a city in the western Terai plains of Nepal the next day. On our Simikot to Kailash journey, we travel along ancient pilgrimage routes and trade links, trekking across the border into Tibet. The Tibet tour starts with a visit to the Garuda valley, a place believed to be the cradle of the Tibetan civilization during the ancient times when Bon religion was practiced throughout Tibet, long before Buddhism was introduced. Next, we circumambulate Mt. Kailash and tour Mansarovar Lake, both of which hold great natural, cultural and religious significance. The Kailash Tour via Simikot ends in Lhasa which is called the ‘cradle of Tibetan civilization.

We will be served breakfast in hotels in Kathmandu, Nepalgunj and Tibet whereas all meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided during the trek (in Nepal). A basic meal during trekking in Nepal will include rice, potatoes, noodle with soup, etc. However, note that we will not be provided any meals in Tibet. Therefore, it is better to set aside a food budget of up to $20- $30 for lunch and dinner per day while in Tibet.
We will be staying in Yatri Suites & Spa or similar in Kathmandu, Hotel Siddhartha in Nepalgunj and teahouses during trek. While trekking in Nepal (Simikot to Hilsa), it should be understood that the area is developing so the accommodation facilities there will be fairly basic. Therefore, we can decide to either stay in the local tea houses or in tents (which will be arranged by Himalayan Glacier). Accommodations in Kathmandu, Nepalgunj and Tibet (except trekking) will be on twin-shared basis but while trekking (both in Nepal and Tibet), you will be accommodated in a common dormitory.
Single Supplement : USD 650

There are so many superlatives to use when talking about Himalayan Glacier, but here are just a few reasons why I consider them one of the best trekking companies in Nepal:
They are extremely trustworthy - I had booked this trip with them in the fall of 2017, but had to cancel it because of serious health issues. I had already put down a large deposit, and H.G. refunded every penny back to me with no questions asked!
When I was finally able to go trekking in May 2018, H.G. continued to be the only company I found which offers trekking into Tibet from Nepal - paperwork to go into Tibet is very complicated, and H.G. took on the task and made everything work out extremely well. Even when our party had increased difficulties with Chinese visas while already underway, H.G. flew a representative to eastern Nepal and then trekked into where we were to bring the new paperwork at no additional cost to us!
H.G. is a local company which fully understands the local culture: I found everyone at H.G. to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable - from top management through booking agents, to guides and porters. The company has been around 27 years, and has much experience under their belts. I felt like they were "family" to me when I left, and hope to have forged long-term relationships.
I had only great experiences with this company!
After 4 years of planning and waiting, I finally arrived at the foothill of Mount Kailash and completed the Kora! Given the prior excellant experience with Himalayan Glacier, I wouldn't pick any other company but Himalayan Glacier to organize this dream adventure for me.
The staff at HGL were wonderful. Prior to the trip, Vidya made sure all our questions were answered. Mr. Naba made sure we were well taken care of every step of the way. Pasang and Tandim were awsome in taking care of our daily needs. I still miss Tandim's noodles! He is not an ordinary cook; he is very knowledgable about the trek and the people in that area. The Tibetan counterpart did well in terms of educating us about Tibetan cultures and religion.
This trek goes through places that will take your breath away. I am so glad I did it with such wonderful and capable crew! They made all the difference!
Nepali trek from Simikot to Hilsa has been very very fine, technically easy, with great natural landscapes, little villages and local friendly people; we have had great guide and skilfull cook. In Tibet we meet some sites with basic accomodation but balanced by powerful nature, wild animals and above all moving religiosity, around Kailash and Manosarovar lake, in gompa and monastery up to fantastic Lhasa Potala and Jokang. Tibetan guide was careful and very deep knowing about Budhhism. In Tibet police everywhere!
