Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world while Everest Base Camp lies in the foothills of the world’s highest mountain. The summit of Kilimanjaro is marked at the altitude of 5,895 meters / 19,341 feet and the Everest Base Camp is at 5,364 meters / 17,598 feet. In regards to the altitude, Kilimanjaro is 531 meters (1,742 feet) higher than Everest Base Camp.
