Participate in our community and travel activities for an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Nepal and get acquainted with the local communities. The Nepalese are very friendly and accept visitors in no time as their own and create an everlasting bond, making departure a sad experience.
During the trip you will be taking part in the Nepalese education and health systems as well as reconstruction and rehabilitation as per your skill and interest. Volunteering in Orphanages and Elderly Care Centers are also options. The trek, on the other hand, will start from Pokhara after the volunteering activities. We will trek in world’s most popular trekking destinations, the Annapurna region, enjoying the diverse Nepalese landscape and watch amazing views of the sunrise amidst the mighty Himalayas. The 5 day trek starts from Pokhara uphill towards exotic places like Ulleri, Ghorepani and the Poon hill.
You can choose from the following volunteering services as per your interest:
The April and May earthquake shook the physical infrastructures of Nepal. 500,000 houses were damaged, 14 out of 75 districts are said to be effected, 2.8 Million people were deemed to require Humanitarian Assistance and around 8 Million people were directly or indirectly affected by the disaster. Education and Health facilities are the sectors that require special attention in order to ensure smooth flow of the communal services and development.
Our 13 days volunteering opportunity can be the perfect choice to gain some cross-cultural experience, provide humanitarian assistance, and help in reconstruction. While volunteering and providing help also relieve your muscles in the relaxing environment of Pokhara and trek hard to the adventures of the Annapurna.
An organization, like a school, can greatly benefit from people around the world in sense of providing a platform of cross-cultural experience to the students. Besides brainstorming and knowledge sharing, local schools also earn goodwill for including volunteering activities in their organization.
Health posts or sub-health posts can be a great way for analyzing the health status of the community since most of the health related services are delivered through them.
Taking part in Reconstruction will provide one of the most sought resources to the community, manpower. Besides doing the physicals, volunteers with construction knowledge can be of a great help, although just providing manual labor is more than enough.
Home stay during volunteering, on the other hand, contributes positively to the community both in terms of economy and promotion.

We will be then escorted to hotels in Kathmandu. After check in, we can either take a rest or hang around in the city or visit Himalayan Glacier’s office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan Glacier at The Ship Restaurant Bar & Lounge. Early morning departure from volunteering will bring us to the city of Lakes, Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the most tourist-friendly places in Nepal where you can take part in wide range of activities. The ever calm Phewa Lake is nearby where you can relax watching the reflection of Mount Fishtail on the waters. A day off on this city will calm us down and prepare us for the next adventure. For now, we will just get lost in the Pokhreli beauty.
Overnight in Pokhara.
After a day off in Pokhara we will drive to Nayapul and from there start our trek to Ulleri. We stop at the higher part of the Ghorepani village that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains including Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains. Since Ghorepani lies quite higher than our previous stop, we begin to feel the chilly weather especially in the evenings. Overnight at Ghorepani.
We make our ascent to the Ghorepani village. The name Ghorepani in Nepali means horse-water owing to its role as an important campsite for traders before it became a trekker’s stop. Ghorepani is an interesting place with small shops and stalls for selling local products and craft. The town has two parts: one in a saddle and the other a few hundred feet lower.
Today will be a special day because we conquer Poon Hill- an icon of Annapurna region. To catch the magnificent splendor of sunrise over the Himalayas, we make an early morning climb along the steep trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3200mtrs). Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft) is a great viewpoint from where we will be able to enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Mustang part and Pokhara valleys including the closest views of more than 20 highest mountains including the close-up views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The snowy peaks of the high mountains loom above and around us glowing in the morning light. After taking photos and having some coffee or tea or hot chocolate, we return back to Gorepani. Upon breakfast, we head east and climb a nearby ridge. We descend through rhododendron forest, pass by spectacular waterfalls along the way and reach Tadapani for overnight.
From Tadapani, we make a steep descent through the dense and dark forest. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees. After trekking some more minutes, we enter the village of Ghandruk, a slope settlement with stone houses mostly inhabited by the Gurung people. After enjoying the stunningly close-up towering views of Fishtail, Annapurna South, and Hiuchuli mountains, we continue our trek to Nayapul from where we will drive back to Pokhara.Overnight in Pokhara.
We will leave Pokhara in the early morning in a Tourist-class comfortable Vehicle. Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we will be dropped-off at our hotel. Visiting nearby ‘Garden of Dreams’ or simply wandering in the streets of Kathmandu are some of the many things which you can do as an option to resting in the hotel. The day ends with a farewell dinner that includes delicious Nepali local cuisines with Himalayan Glacier Representatives. After that you may choose to spend some time in romantic bars and clubs of Thamel or simply get a good night sleep preparing for next day’s departure journey back home. Overnight in Kathmandu.
