Be a part of the grandeur and mingle with the local inhabitants while you ride your cycle along the rims of Kathmandu. it is an opportunity to understand the rich culture, understand the mythical legends, view old shrines, traditional houses and observe the traditional lifestyles of the Nepalese people.
After breakfast in our hotel, we will gather in Himalayan Glacier’s office and begin our cycling tour at 9.00 am after a short briefing. We begin cycling from Thamel and head towards Chobhar Gorge via Kathmandu Durbar Square which is 9 km away from Kathmandu. After reaching Chobhar, we will do sightseeing of Chobhar hilltop for about an hour. During the sightseeing, we will also visit the Adinath temple situated on top of the hill and enjoy the picturesque view of the valley. From here, we will proceed towards Kirtipur hilltop via the old trail. We will ride through the narrow alleyways of the ancient town and view the old shrines, temples and traditional houses observing the traditional lifestyle of the town dwellers. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and taste the local delicacies along with a spectacular view of the high snow-capped mountains. On our way back, we will do sightseeing of the historical and ancient temple and its surroundings, as well as a scenic view of Kirtipur Bazaar. After arriving in Kathmandu, we will go to our respective hotel rooms and relax.

I had a great ride on Saturday. The altitude and hills made me aware that my conditioning has a log way to go. The guide was excellent and I look forward to riding with him again when I return in either July or August.
