Our India and Nepal Tour combines tours in two beautiful South-Asian countries with rich culture and amazing landscape. The trip begins in Delhi, India with visits to the city’s popular landmarks including India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid and others. Next, drive to Jaipur and tour the vibrant city’s many wonders such as the Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal (wind house) among others. Our next stop will be Agra, a city that houses the astonishing Taj Mahal. Then we journey to the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu and visit a handful of UNESCO World Heritage Sites scattered around the capital city. We end our trip in Darjeeling where we enjoy a ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway recognized as a World Heritage Railway by UNESCO and also watch the sunrise from Tiger Hill.

Day 01
Arrival in Delhi (India)

After your arrival at the Delhi airport, a representative from Himalayan Glacier will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. Later you may take a rest or stroll in the colorful Delhi Bazaars. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 02
Sightseeing in Delhi

Delhi is known to have been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC. Through most of its history, it has served as a capital of kingdoms and empires. It has been invaded, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval era, and therefore the modern city of Delhi is a cluster of many cities scattered across the metropolitan region. It houses many ancient and medieval monuments, archaeological sites and remains. We begin our Delhi Tour after breakfast. Today we visit several important landmarks of the city including India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Tomb of Humayan among others. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 03
Delhi to Jaipur

Today we leave Delhi for Jaipur and visit Lord Shiva’s statue on the way. Shiva is one of the primary Hindu gods. After checking-in at our hotel in Jaipur, also nicknamed ‘The Pink City’, we spend a few hours walking in the city’s wide streets. This is meant to get us acquainted with local lifestyle. We spend the rest of the day exploring City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Amber and Jaigarh forts. And if we wish to buy a unique souvenir, we may visit one of the bazaars, where we can pick up a pair of camel-leather slippers, carpets etc. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 04
Sightseeing in Jaipur

After breakfast we spend the rest of the day touring Jaipur’s many landmarks and enjoying the city’s wonderful ambience. Today we visit Nahar Garh Fort, Birla Temple, Jal Mahal and Ram Bagh palaces. Today we also get to enjoy an elephant ride and visit the handicraft bazaar. The handicraft bazaar is famous for showcasing unique crafts authentic to the area. Overnight in Jaipur.

Jaipur to Agra

After breakfast we leave for Agra, an Indian city famous for housing the Taj Mahal. The famous testament of love was built by the grieving Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz. While in the city we also visit Jama Masjid, Etmad-Ul-Ah and two other UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Red Fort and Fatehpur Sikri. We end our Agra tour in the vibrant handicraft bazaar. Drive to Delhi airport then fly to Kathmandu

We leave Agra for Delhi airport after breakfast then catch an afternoon flight to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. A Himalayan Glacier representative will pick us up from Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu and drop us off at our hotel. Later we may take a rest or visit the quaint streets of Thamel, a popular tourist site in the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 07
Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour by visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to the 18th century. Swayambhunath Temple is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of river Bagmati and is one of the principal temples of Lord Shiva. The Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia which is built on the ancient trade route to Tibet. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Fly to Bhadrapur then drive to Darjeeling

Early in the morning, we catch a plane to Bhadrapur, a city in the eastern regions of Nepal bordering India. From there, we begin our journey to Darjeeling. The Indian hill town is nestled among the rolling mountains with the glistening Mt Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling fondly called “Queen of the Hills”, provides a perfect gateway for those seeking to be in harmony with nature. This is the land of the muscatel flavored Darjeeling tea revered by connoisseurs across the globe. Overnight in Darjeeling.

Sightseeing in Darjeeling

We get up early in the morning to enjoy the exquisite sunrise view from Tiger Hill. Next, tour Ghoom Monastery followed by a visit to the Himalayan Mountain Institute. Ghoom Monastery was built in 1850 by Lama Sherub Gyatsho, a monk from Mongolia. The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was established to encourage mountaineering as an organized sport in India. In the evening, we may also visit the Peace Pagoda, Darjeeling Toy Train and other landmarks of the town. Since, Darjeeling is the land of flavored ‘Darjeeling-Tea’ revered by connoisseurs across the globe. There are over seventy tea gardens in the region with the nearest being Happy Valley Tea Estate about 1km away which is open to tourists which we can enjoy during our stay in Darjeeling. Final departure: drive to Bagdogra airport then fly to Delhi

After breakfast we leave for Bagdora airport. From the airport we will have to fly to Delhi in order to board an international flight.
