Day Tour of Everest Base Camp by helicopter in Nepal is a great way to experience Everest in just one day. We begin our helicopter tour from Kathmandu flying to Lukla, a beautiful Sherpa village. From here we fly over the base camp, one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world. From above, we get to admire great views of the beautiful Khumbu Glacier. Next, we stop at Kala Patthar for the grandest views of the world’s highest mountain and it’s the neighboring Himalayas. Then we fly to Syangboche and spend around twenty minutes for breakfast while also admiring the beautiful Himalayan vista. Additional Note

Spending only around five minutes in Kalapathhar will prevent us from getting altitude sickness. Our helicopter will be on stand by at Kalapathhar therefore it is technically impossible to spend more than the allocated time.

Acclimatization

On our Day Tour of Everest Base Camp in Helicopter, we fly from Kathmandu at 1,300 meters to the maximum altitude of 5,545m in only a few hours. The rapid increase in altitude may result in Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Therefore, it is important that we are extra careful. We can take Diamox tablet as a precaution before starting the trip. It is also advised that you consult your doctor before booking the trip.

Best Time To Travel

The best time to take this trip is from September to April. Although spring and autumn are Nepal’s popular tourist seasons, a helicopter day trip in the winter guarantees equally clear views that will have you mesmerized. However, being the monsoon season the months of June, July and August are not recommended.
