Different indigenous communities in Nepal have different ways and dates for New Year’s celebrations. Even within intra communities the New Year’s festivals differs owing to myriad cultural backgrounds. Knowing these facts, Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has been observing the Lhosar festival in a combined way by bringing together all Lhosar affiliated communities in a single program.

At the grand venue of Hotel Yak and Yeti, Durbarmarg on February 23 of 2013, most of the indigenous communities’ representative from Gurung, Sherpa and Tamang will participate on the Lhosar Dinner Ball. The festival gathering hopes to showcase and promote culture and tradition of respective communities.
The festival as TAAN’s tourism calendar event expects to attract more and more international tourist on the occasion.
