The exhibition of handicrafts and local food items prepared by women kicked off at Tripureswor in the capital from Friday.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Rhiddi Baba Pradhan said the Ministry has prioritised women empowerment programmes in the current budget.
The four-day exhibition has 74 stalls featuring the handicrafts including toys, pashmina shawls and other clothes and food items including Yomori, Momo and meat varieties, said Prof. Rajani Shrestha.
The exhibition is jointly organised by Women’s Association of Training and Service, Kathmandu Business and Professional Women and the Women’s Empowerment.
Director of the Cottage and Small Industry Development Committee Nilam Tamrakar said the committee has been running skill development training.
The exhibition was for women’s capacity building, said Convener of the exhibition Mandira Tamrakar.
