Festivals have a special place in the hearts of the Bhutanese. Locals come from miles around to attend these festivals of dance, feasting and socializing in their best clothes. On your 9-day tour you will not only be participating in the grand Thimphu Tshechu festival along with Thangbi Mani festival 2017, but will also be visiting popular landmarks like dzongs (fortress), monasteries scattered throughout the country. The Thimphu Tsechu and Thangbi Mani Festival Tour also takes you hiking to some of the beautiful hiking destinations of the country including the famous Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, believed to be the epitome of the rich Bhutanese culture.Please note that the following itinerary has been especially designed to cover the Thimphu and Thangbi Mani festivals in the autumn of 2017.
Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Himalayan Glacier. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.
Hotels in Bhutan are approved and classified by the government as grade A, B and C. These government approved hotels are equivalent to 3-4 star hotels elsewhere. Based on availability at the time of booking, we will be accommodated in A grade hotels in Paro and Thimpu and B grade hotel in Punakha, Wangdue and Bumthang. We use Hotel Migmar in Thimphu, Meri Puensum Resort in Punakha, Hotel Peling in Bumthang, Dragon’s Nest Resort in Wangdue and Tashi Namgay Resort in Paro. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost USD 560.

Druk Air has a 44 pound (20 kg) weight limit for checked luggage and another 11 pound weight limit for carry-on luggage on their flights. Your carry-on bags are restricted to one piece, and the size should not exceed 17" x 13" x 8".Official Papers
