Dolpo region is the most remote and least developed district in Nepal. Although a few anthropologists and geographers had explored the region, the entire district was closed to trekkers until 1989 when the southern part of Dolpo was opened to organized trekking groups. Best Season
Trekking season
The best months are July and August during the summer season and April to October during the year is consider as the best seasons for attempting trekking crossing Kang-La (5,360m m/17581ft). Early winter Kang-La might be icy while crossing and normally closed. During the winter month pass will be closed for normal trekkers.
