Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha pass with Parchamo Peak Trekking-19 Days
Trip Introduction
Challenge yourself with one of most invigorating treks, the Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha pass with Parchamo Peak Trekking that passes through two different Himalayas regions: the Rolwaling and the Khumbu. The trek also offers a great opportunity for a short climb to the summit of the Parchamo (6273 m). The trek is strenuous, prior trekking experience and logistics are absolutely necessary. You will also need a trekking permit for the Parchamo. The Trek to Rolwaling and the Tashi- Lapcha Pass is one of the more challenging treks in Nepal, requiring expedition style camping trek with full logistic support. Rolwaling trek crosses high Himalayan glaciers and up to altitudes of over 5700 m with extreme temperatures upto -10 to -20 degrees. Since, the trek also including climbing option of the Parchamo Peak, crampons and an ice ax and rope should be carried, even if it may not be necessary under good conditions.
Our program is fully planned and supported by a team of crew members, including guides, kitchen staff, and other support crew members as part of the standard program. We begin our journey with a scenic drive by road from Kathmandu to Lhasa to the ancient trading city Dolakha. Than we trek through the Rolwaling valley, famous as one of the seven hidden valleys of the Himalayas, pass the beautiful Sherpa and Tamang villages. Rolwaling is the east-west valley below the Gauri Shankar (7135 m) near the Tibetan border. Beding and Na are the last Sherpa villages of the Rolwaling Valley. We cross the Tashi (Tesi) Lapcha Pass (5755 m) and then descend to the Khumbu Valley by visiting Thame, Tenzin Norgay's hometown. Continuing along the Sherpa headquarters of Namche Bazar and then to Lukla, we fly to Kathmandu from Lukla.
