Participate in our community and travel activities for an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Nepal and get acquainted with the local communities. The Nepalese are very friendly and accept visitors in no time as their own and create an everlasting bond, making departure a sad experience.
During the trip you will be taking part in the Nepalese education and health systems as well as reconstruction and rehabilitation as per your skill and interest. Volunteering in Orphanages and Elderly Care Centers are also options. The trek, on the other hand, will start from Pokhara after the volunteering activities. We will trek in world’s most popular trekking destinations, the Annapurna region, enjoying the diverse Nepalese landscape and watch amazing views of the sunrise amidst the mighty Himalayas. The 5 day trek starts from Pokhara uphill towards exotic places like Ulleri, Ghorepani and the Poon hill.
You can choose from the following volunteering services as per your interest:
The April and May earthquake shook the physical infrastructures of Nepal. 500,000 houses were damaged, 14 out of 75 districts are said to be effected, 2.8 Million people were deemed to require Humanitarian Assistance and around 8 Million people were directly or indirectly affected by the disaster. Education and Health facilities are the sectors that require special attention in order to ensure smooth flow of the communal services and development.
Our 13 days volunteering opportunity can be the perfect choice to gain some cross-cultural experience, provide humanitarian assistance, and help in reconstruction. While volunteering and providing help also relieve your muscles in the relaxing environment of Pokhara and trek hard to the adventures of the Annapurna.
Advantage to the community and volunteers:
An organization, like a school, can greatly benefit from people around the world in sense of providing a platform of cross-cultural experience to the students. Besides brainstorming and knowledge sharing, local schools also earn goodwill for including volunteering activities in their organization.
Health posts or sub-health posts can be a great way for analyzing the health status of the community since most of the health related services are delivered through them.
Taking part in Reconstruction will provide one of the most sought resources to the community, manpower. Besides doing the physicals, volunteers with construction knowledge can be of a great help, although just providing manual labor is more than enough.
Home stay during volunteering, on the other hand, contributes positively to the community both in terms of economy and promotion. Why volunteer with us?

Himalayan Glacier's Volunteering and Annapurna Sunrise trek is moderate trek suitable for passionate walkers who have ability to walk at least 6-8 hours a day with a light day pack. Volunteering with require interest and ability to work for 5-6 hours every day but the working hours can be increased or decreased on mutual consent.
Walking in higher altitude is physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes; however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness and have positive attitude, self confidence and strong determination, we can accomplish this Trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior of the trip is good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is vital to consult with our doctor before we decide and set up for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Participants with preexisting medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood disease should inform Himalayan Glacier before booking the trek. If we want to do the same trek in rather relaxed way, Himalayan Glacier has 16-days itinerary for Annapurna Base Camp trek too.Volunteering, on the other hand is possible with or without prior experience. The only things it demands are high level of interest and commitment to work with flexibility.
Early morning departure from volunteering will bring us to the city of Lakes, Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the most tourist-friendly places in Nepal where you can take part in wide range of activities. The ever calm Phewa Lake is nearby where you can relax watching the reflection of Mount Fishtail on the waters. A day off on this city will calm us down and prepare us for the next adventure. For now, we will just get lost in the Pokhreli beauty.Overnight in Pokhara.
From Tadapani, we make a steep descent through the dense and dark forest. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees. After trekking some more minutes, we enter the village of Ghandruk, a slope settlement with stone houses mostly inhabited by the Gurung people. After enjoying the stunningly close-up towering views of Fishtail, Annapurna South, and Hiuchuli mountains, we continue our trek to Nayapul from where we will drive back to Pokhara.Overnight in Pokhara.
