Trip Introduction

Sandwiched between Tibet in the north and India in the three sides; and popularly know as as the 'Land of the Thunder Dragon' and the 'Last Shangri-La', the state of Bhutan offers a mesmerizing and unspoilt cultural and natural grandeur. Predominantly Vajrayana Buddhism being the state religion, Hinduism is second-largest religion mostly followed by the Nepali speaking Bhutanese in the southern Bhutan. Bhutanese landscape is characterized by rugged terrain and steep mountain valleys from subtropical plains in the south through temperate zone to the Sub-alpine Himalayas exceeding 7000 meters. The culturally and religiously rich Bhutan remained entirely disconnected from the rest of the world until 1960s. Remarkable is that very careful attention has been paid by the Bhutanese government in preserving and promoting Bhutanese culture now also.

Journey of Glimpse of Bhutan Tour encompasses western Bhutan's 'must see' highlights. The tour begins in the scenic Paro Valley with a hike to the famous Tiger`s Nest (Taktsang) monastery. After visiting Thimphu, a unique capital city that has a blend of traditional and modern touch, we drive across the picturesque Dochu La Pass into the subtropical valleys of Punakha and Wangdue. We will visit the ancient Capital of Bhutan, a medieval Dzong of Wangdue and return to Paro for your journey back home. During the journey, you will experience breath-taking view of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks including the sacred Jumolhari and Mount Jichu Drake in Bhutan.

Glimpses of Bhutan-4 days is a cultural tour suitable for those who have very short holiday. You will prefer Bhutan Cultural Tour-7 days if you have a week holiday. If you are entering Bhutan overland from Darjeeling/Sikkim (India), Phuentsholing to Paro Tour with Thimphu and Punakha -7 days would be an excellent trip in Bhutan for you with which you will experience little more cultural aspects of Bhutan with visit to more places of it. To enjoy a joint tour in Bhutan and Nepal (Kathmandu), Druk Yul and Nepal Tour-9 days would be best for you. If you want to familiarize yourself on trek in Bhutan along with a cultural tour in Bhutan then, Bhutan Cultural Tour with 3 days Bumthang Trek -12 days OR Druk Path Trek with 3 days Cultural Tour-10 days would be suitable for you. But if you are actually looking for just a trek in Bhutan, The Chomolhari Trek-12 days would be a best option.
