Trip Introduction

The Bardia National Park in the Western Terai of Nepal is a famous habitat for the wildlife in the region. The Park is the largest and least encroached upon wilderness in the Terai. The National Park which also includes the Babai River Valley preserves in its forest, grassland and river habitats. The region is home to many wild species, including the rare the endangered flora and fauna. The Park provides a number of well maintained domestic elephants, hence it's also famous for elephant safari.  The Elephant Safari inside the jungle provide both fun and safety - on an Elephant Safari,  you will get to enjoy the company of tall grass, forests, and wild animals.

The Park was declared a wildlife reserve in 1976 and a national park in 1988. Among the rare wild animals include rhinoceros, Wild elephants, The Royal Bengal Tiger, Swamp deer, Black buck, Gharial Crocodile, and Gangetic Dolphins. Just imagine the thrill and adventure of following the big cats in their own original habitat!

Day 01: Arrival at Bardia
We fly about an hour's flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. From  Nepalgunj another an hour's drive would take us to Bardia. Upon arrival at Bardia, you will be transferred to your resort. There will be a briefing about the program at the National Park. In the evening, village tour to an ethnic Tharu village nearby, believed to be original inhabitants of the local jungle area. Also visit to crocodile breeding center and the Tharu Museum. (Note: This day's programme will be arranged according to your arrival time).
Day 02: Full Day Activities in Bardia National Park including Jungle Safari
After early morning wake-up call, we go for the elephant safari into the deep & dense jungle. Apart from the fun, another benefit of elephant ride into the jungle is that there is a better chance of seeing wild animals, since the wild animals are less scared when you're on the top of their mammoth friend. Then we return to the resort and take our breakfast. Then we again head into the jungle to track the tigers. We will have our packed lunch inside the jungle at around 1 pm.We explore the jungle further and get back to the resort by evening. The dinner will be served at the resort at around 8 pm.
Day 03: Morning Jungle Walk and Departure
Early morning wake up call. After breakfast, we go for a jungle walk for bird watching. Since it's our departure day today from Bardia, we will get back to the resort by noon. Then we will have our lunch and depart for onward destination.
