The ‘Kathmandu Valley and Tea Garden Tour’ begins with visits to different UNESCO World Heritage Sites within the Kathmandu Valley which are a mix of graceful temples and stupas; elegant palaces, brick-paved courtyards and quaint streets. Next, we visit Ilam, a hilly district of tea gardens and estates in eastern Nepal's High Himalayan region. While here, we not only enjoy the town’s mesmerizing landscape but we also quaint ourselves with the famous tea-gardens in the area. Our 7-day tour ends with a visit to Nagarkot, a beautiful town located in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley famous for its excellent views of the Himalayas.
We will be accommodated in a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu and guesthouse in Ilam. We will be staying at Hotel Shanker in Kathmandu and Hotel Shikhar in Ilaam. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 400.
Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, Himalayan Glacier will arrange to pick us up from the airport. We will then be transferred to our hotel. During the late afternoon, we can take a rest at our hotel room or visit Himalayan Glacier's office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan Glacier at The Ship Restaurant Bar & Lounge. For dinner, you will be served excellent authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the Nepalese food culture. Overnight in Kathmandu.
We retrace our route back to Bhadrapur, Jhapa then fly back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, we can spend the rest of the day resting or souvenir shopping in Thamel, a popular tourist hub in Kathmandu. Himalayan Glacier also likes to mention that if we wish to extend our trip to Darjeeling from Bhadrapur then the trip can be arranged.Nepal's border with India lies about 15 kilometers east of Bhadrapur and Bhadrapur is only one and a half hour drive from the Bagdogra airport and Siliguri in India. Siliguri is also the gateway to Darjeeling, Sikkim, and the north-eastern Indian states. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient arts and architecture. We also visit Bhakatpur, an irresistible city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, we get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, water spouts and the 55 Window Palace which merge together to provide an ambience of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors. We also immerse ourselves in the authentic delicacy of the locals in Bhaktapur.Today we also visit Nagarkot, a village in Bhaktapur which sits at 7,200 ft and boasts stunning Himalayan vistas. It is also renowned for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. Depending on your choice, we will visit Nagarkot either for sunrise or for sunset.
