Join our fabulous 10-day Kathmandu Pokhara River & Wildlife Tour which combines natural and cultural sightseeing with adventure and wildlife experiences including rafting, elephant safari and boating. Stroll in the medieval streets of Kathmandu full of architectural wonders, raft in the Himalayan river, make a boat ride in a Himalayan lake, go for a canoe trip in the dense sub-tropical jungle, or learn to follow the wild-lives in their natural habitat - we've combined everything that you are wishing to squeeze out in your short Nepal Tour. Or do you love junglewalk/bird-watching in the jungles and sunrise over the Himalayas? Start the tour from Kathmandu Valley, with its UNESCO World Heritage Site cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. Then we raft down to the Chitwan Jungle to discover why the National Park holds an important place in preserving the wild lives that are rapidly getting extinct from this planet. From Chitwan, we continue our journey to the fantastic Lake City of Pokhara. The trip encompasses some of the most spectaculars natural, cultural, and wildlife splendors of Nepal as well as provides an opportunity to mingle with local people with their ethnic lifestyles.

All accommodations for Kathmandu, Pokhara, River and Wildlife Tour are on twin sharing basis included in the trip cost and are chosen based on standard of hygiene, standard of service and food, location, etc. There are two styles of accommodations during our tour. You will spend four nights in a 4-star hotel, Hotel Shanker or similar category hotel in Kathmandu; three nights in Temple Tiger Jungle Lodge or similar in Chitwan and two nights in Mt. Kailash Resort or similar in Pokhara. Mostly the buffet style breakfast will be provided in the Kathmandu hotel; Set breakfast might be arranged in outside Kathmandu hotel and all meals are available in the Jungle Safari. If you are a solo traveler, you will share a room with someone else of same sex of your group. If you prefer a single room, you may indicate your preference and get single rooms on request by paying single supplement USD 700.


Mostly the buffet style breakfast will be provided in the Kathmandu hotel; Set breakfast might be arranged in outside Kathmandu hotel and all meals are available in the Jungle Safari.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport (TIA) you will be greeted by a representative from Himalayan Glacier Trekking who will drop you off at your hotel. After checking in, you can take a rest, hang around in the city or visit our office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan Glacier at The Ship Restaurant Bar & Lounge. For dinner, you will be served excellent authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the Nepalese food cultureOvernight at Kathmandu.

Day 02: KTM Sightseeing Tour: Kathmanu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhu, Boudhanath
We start a guided tour to four of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu.  Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the medieval Kings who ruled over the then Kathmandu Kingdom. Pashupatinath houses a sacred lingum, or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. The Aryaghat alongside Pashupati and on the banks of the Bagmati River is a famous funeral site for the Hindus. The Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Kathmandu.  The area of Boudhnath is also famous for over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries. Swayambhu meaning the "the self-existent" is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large number of monkey population residing in the area. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive & Rafting in Trishuli River
After morning breakfast, drive to rafting put in point Trishuli River, about 3 hours drive into the mountains. First, the rafting guide briefs on different aspects and techniques of rafting. At times, we encounter Class 2 or Class 3 rapids. There will be lunch and camping on the bank of Trishuli River. Soon you will discover the thrills of rafting in the Himalayan River and the spectacular sceneries, with blue sky, green mountains, and terraces stretching up the mountain sides. In the afternoon, we make another two hours drive to reach Chitwan National Park. A guided village walk and a walk on the banks of the Rapti River to watch the charming sunset views in the sub-tropical jungle. In the evening, dinner with cultural program by ethnic tribal people with their stick dance and tribal drums.  Overnight at National Park.

Day 04:  Full Day at Chitwan National Park including Jungle Safari
Chitwan National Park has been declared by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Today you will discover why the National Park holds an important place in preserving the wild lives that are rapidly getting extinct from this planet. You can do a number of activities here - an elephant safari, a nature walk, bird watching, a jungle drive or a canoe trip.  The Park is also home to rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison, gangetic dolphin, birds, butterflies, as well as the near extinct Gharials crocodiles. Don't forget to shoot the animals whenever you're lucky to spot them but of course with your camera! There's no doubt that you jungle experience would be one of the fondest memories of lifetime. Day 05: Another Full Day at Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park offers dense habitat wildlife & natural beauties, with rivers, marshlands, savannas with different land and aquatic wildlife. We get up early in the morning and after breakfast Jungle walk and bird-watching tour. Then we for jungle excursion on the elephant back or the Elephant Safari.  You may even take a bath with an elephant and learn how to wash your elephant! Also enjoy the canoe ride and jungle walk. Besides wildlife, you can also see the Tharu people living in the jungles with their own unique culture and traditions. Overnight at the Overnight at Chitwan National Park.

Day 06: Drive to Pokhara & Pokhara Sightseeing
We drive to Pokhara today - about 140 kilometers from Chitwan and a 5-6 hour's drive. The drive is very much similar to that we had while coming to Chitwan from Kathmandu. From Mugling, we drive further west into the mountains, following the rivers for much of the day.  Pokhara, also nicknamed as the Lake City, is not only Nepal's but one of the most beautiful places on earth. The town offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Pokhara is also the gateway for trekking in the Annapurna Region. After arriving Pokhara, we make a sightseeing trip to some of Pokhara's marketplaces, old bazaars, and landmarks. In the evening, explore the surrounding lakeside areas. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 07: Sarangkot Sunrise & Explore Pokhara
Early morning we drive to the Sarangkot Hill to have the sunrise views over the Himalayas. The Sarangkot Hill offers an excellent panoramic view of the Annapurna range, the twin tails of Machapuchhre (Fishtail) and the Dhaulagiri massif. After breakfast, we make a full day sightseeing of Pokhara. We also make a short visit to the Gupteswar Mahadev Cave (also called Shiva Gufa) located in the southern end of the city, Chorepatan. Some of the other places that we visit today include the Seti River Gorge, the Seti River that flows through the city makes deep canyons and goes completely underground at places. Devi's Fall - locally known as Patale Chhango or the Hell's Fall, an eerie waterfall, Tibetan Refugee Camp and the mountain museum etc.  Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 08: Full Day in Pokhara with Boating
Enjoy walking along the bank of Phewa Lake, admiring the stunning reflection of the Fish Tail Peak in the blue Phewa Lake waters. We make a sightseeing tour of any of the places that we could not have made the previous day. Take a boat around the Fewa Lake which is the second biggest lake of Nepal. Paddling in the Fewa Lake would be one of the fondest memories of being in Pokhara. Enjoy the views of the Annapurna Himalayas, especially the Machapuchhre (Fishtail) in the blue-green Fewa waters. We take the boat across the lake and take an hour's walk climbing up through the forest to the World Peace Pagoda. The Stupa on a hill overlooking Phewa Tal opffers a panoramic view over the mountains and the sunset over Pokhara.

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu
After breakfast, we start our 200 kilometers drive back to Kathmandu. Better to hold on the left pane of the vehicle to enjoy the sceneries through the route. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner at The Ship Restaurant Bar & Lounge where you can pick your meal from their carefully crafted menu that offer a wide range of choices.

Day 10: Fly Home: Farewell Friend
You are saying good bye to the mountains as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! We hope you enjoyed the tour with us, and are sure you will be back in your trip somewhere in the Nepal Himalaya again. Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight a representative from Himalayan Glacier Trekking will transfer you to the airport. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Himalayan Glacier. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary.
