3 Peaks; 3 Passes

Island Peak, Lobuche and Nirekha Peak climbing with 3 Passes Trek

I would recommend Himalayan Glacier Trekking for any trekking trip, and I would use them again in the future. The must-haves for a successful Himalayan trip is extra toilet paper, ear plugs to sleep well, and using HGT.

My trip was a 30day itinerary covering the 3 high passes while climbing Island Peak, Lobuche East, and Nirekha Peak. The climbs all took me over 20,000ft. HGT, specifically Naba, was very considerate to keep in touch with me before I left answering any questions, then met me at the hotel to give me a warm welcome to Nepal. The head trekking guide, Man, was very professional and experienced. My porter was very fit, kind, and took more guide responsibilities as I started to separate from the main group to climb my specific peaks. The climbing guide was professional, kind and skillful. The entire team helped me be totally successful while enjoying my vacation. In fact I completed my itinerary a week early, and they stayed flexible to help provide me the trip I wanted.

Himalayan Glacier Trekking is most suited to lead treks, though the climbs were good and enjoyable. I enjoyed using a Nepalese company because the money went right into the area and employed people who grew up in the areas I was exploring. It was important to me to spend money this way because my impact as one of the thousands of tourists who visit this region is a heavy burden on the local communities. Of course there may be certain amenities that American companies can uniquely provide, but I didn't travel to Nepal for an American experience.

Island Peak Climbing

Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek

I travelled with Himalayan Glacier in November 2016 and successfully made it up to Island Peak despite some early altitude problems. The trip was well organised and nothing was too much trouble throughout. Naba made sure everything was managed professionally and the customer service and follow up throughout was first class. The accommodation in Kathmandu was in a central location and of a high standard which was perfect to relax in before heading into the mountains. The trekking guide (BB) and climbing guide (Tenzing) were very knowledgeable and good company during this long trek, which is important as you spend a lot of time together. Overall I would highly recommend Himalayan Glacier for anyone travelling in this area. They were especially useful negotiating the airports in Nepal :)

Mera Peak Expedition

Mera Peak Climbing

I recently returned from Mera Peak expedition organised by Himalayan Glacier. Naba, consultant from Himalayan Glacier was amazing re: everything from prompt email responses, co-ordination with the team, last minute itinerary changes to organise helicopter pick-up. Sherpa team from Himalayan Glacier was too good; very technical and knew the region very well. Highly recommend them!

Great tour operator for this region

Nepal Annapurna Trek and Bhutan Tour with day hikes

I went to Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan through Himalayan Glacier Trekking and have reservations recommending them as your tour outfitter for this part of the world.  Though I'd never heard of them prior to this trip, I have since come to find they are well known and respected.  Everyone I encountered through their organization was friendly, helpful, and welcoming, as was the hotel staff at all hotels they set me up with.
Typically, I do not return to a country I've already been as there is so much in the world to see, but having gone through their catalog of treks, I could see myself going back to Nepal in the future and if I do, I will go with Himalayan Glacier Trekking.

Everest kangchung Face trek 2014

Everest Kangshung Face Trek

My girlfriend and I went on the Everest Kangchung Face trek with Himalayan Glacier in september 2014. Although the weather wasn't very good the first few days we had an awesome trek in a very remote area in the Himalaya. Not hundreds of trekkers but just a few groups in this magnificent part of the Himalaya with stunning views. The Himalayan Glacier team, both the Tibetan and the Nepal were great. Our very experienced sherpa head guide, Dawa who was on the top of Everest several times (in world record time) was absolutely top, not to forget the porters and specially the cooks who made us tea every afternoon and delicious meals after a long days trek. When we will trek in Nepal again it is for sure with this topteam!

Happy Adventurers

Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Tour

We were extremely pleased with the asisstance we received from Vidya during the planning of our trip. The Nepal earthquake in April threw our plans to drive from Kathmandu to Lhasa out the window, but we eventually ended up with a tour that worked. We found Tibet, really China, a great place with lovely people. Our tour was tiring, perhaps we saw too many monastries, but seeing Mt Everest made it all worth while.Whilst generaly Tibet was very clean, especially compared to India, we found the public toilets deplorable. More effort could be made to locate and take tour groups to cleaner toilets. Our guide and driver were first class and made the trip the great adventure it was. They were always polite, friendly and efficient.

A Marvelous Trip!

Best of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand

Just a very quick note and a very big Thank You for a marvelous trip!  I am running out of superlatives to describe your attention to detail and flawless delivery of a wonderful trip.  Our tour was wonderful and our guides were excellent!  I very much look forward to doing more trips together in the future!
Just one minor note:  The Royal Princess hotel in Chaing Mai is not operating up to the four star standards that it purports to represent.  The hotel has marvelous location, and the lobby is beautiful, but the rooms are weathered and could use some upgrading.

A trip to meet the gods

Lhasa to Kathmandu Overland Tour via Everest Base Camp

This was one of those leap of faith trips. Going into the unknown with little knowledge and relying on the word-of-mouth of friends. Out of one's comfort zone, albeit for a few weeks, it's a worthwhile journey, if taken only once in your life. Himalaya Glaciers did all the work, taking care of most of the tour inclusive of accommodation (breakfast included).  The adventure tour itself was mostly taken care of, so you only had to look after yourself for dinner and ancillary shopping. You could dine with your fellow travellers or strike out on your own. However, as most of the non-city towns tend to be remote, rural and unless you count tibetan or mandarin as one of your spoken languages, best to stay in the proverbial lit areas. Being an adventure, take the good with the bad, as it all counts towards your ultimate experience.  Long drops are definitely an adventure, but as said before, it all counts towards your experience! Naba as the head honcho of Himalaya Glaciers will take care of you from the beginning till the end.
