A walkathon to promote tourism in Nepal will take place on February 15 with 600 participants from all walks of life. Titled ‘Rad-a-thon 2014’, it has been organized by Radisson Hotel in association with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), with theme ‘Tourism for peace, people and prosperity’.
Organized as part of the hotel’s Responsible Business (RB), this is the second edition of the walkathon. The hotel’s staff and guests, celebrities, representatives from NTB and ambassadors from different countries will take part in the walkathon.
Extending invitation to everyone to join in the event, Nandini Thapa, Officiating CEO of NTB said, “We hope this will give out positive message to everyone, especially to the youth of Kathmandu.”
The 7 km-long walkathon will be opened by Sushil Ghimire, Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Starting at 8 in the morning from the premises of Radisson Hotel in Lazimpat, it will move on to the North Gate of former palace, then to Durbar Marg, Ratna Park, Sahid Gate, New Road, Rastriya Nach Ghar, Keshar Mahal and will eventually conclude at the hotel.
Different cultural programs are scheduled after the end of the walkathon.
