Annapurna Circuit Trek in Nepal

Greetings from Australia.

We look back at our wonderful photos and can’t believe it all took place just under one week ago. Thank you for making our time in Nepal so very special. It is an understatement to say that we will never forget it.

We have many highlights from our trip. It is a cliche, but an accurate one, when they say that it is the people who make a holiday extra special. This was certainly the case with us. From our wonderful guides, Hom Neth and Pradeep, (who knew everything from the technical aspects of the trip to how to make the best chipati in the Himalayas), to Sayam and “Khushie Ram” who were our very friendly porters, we were looked after from the moment we stepped off the plane, to the time we boarded again at the end of our trip.

Mat’s Quest 2009 – Everest Base Camp

First please allow me to thank you personally for what turned out to be a life changing trip through the Khumbu region of Nepal. For more than twenty years of my life, I have told anyone that would listen to me… “One day I will go to Mt. Everest Base Camp!” When the opportunity presented itself, all I had to do was pick a trekking company that I felt comfortable traveling half way around the world, and trusting every detail would be taken care of. After several weeks of research, I chose Himalayan Glacier Trekking. The rest is history. Not a single detail was missed. From the minute I walked out of the airport, until the minute I was dropped back off, everything was taken care of.

Annapurna sunrise trek

The staff at Himalayan Glacier are exceptional.  Within 4 hours of my email query, I had a telephone call from Naba who answered all my questions and helped me plan a fantastic Annapurna sunrise trek to the Annapurna area.  My leader and supporter, Homnath and Ramchandra took very good care of me through out my time in Nepal and even deviated from the itinerary so I could see more of the beautiful mountains and hot springs.  If you are planning a trekking holiday in Nepal, why trek with the rest when you can trek with the best -  Himalayan Glacier Trekking!

Thanks so much for a fantastic time Naba and you can be sure that when I return to Nepal, I’ll travel with you again, and I’ll recommend you to everyone I know.

South Africa to Everest Base Camp

“Our entire experience with Himalayan Glacier was excellent, and in fact got better and better as we went, especially when it was most important (deep in the mountains). From a well-constructed, informative and easy to use website, to the fast response and super-professional service provided by Naba out of Kathmandu, to the extremely competent and confidence-inspiring leadership in the mountains of Hom and his team, our Everest Base Camp trek-of-a-lifetime was exactly what we wanted it to be and more. The environment and overall scenery we experienced on our Everest Base Camp Trek was absolutely spectacular, Kala Pathar before sunrise was brilliant, and Chukkung Ri is a must if you’re up to it. All made so much better by the first-world professionalism of Himalayan Glacier. We would unconditionally and unreservedly recommend Himalayan Glacier to all.”

After Annapurna Base camp trek

We had an awesome trek to Annapurna Base camp.

We lucked out with perfect weather, and had clear views all along the trail. We so grateful that we were directed to Himalayan Glacier Trekking company and matched up with Iswor as our beat guide. We were a bit apprehensive at first, but all of our fears were allayed as soon as we started. Iswor was amazing guide for Annapurna Base camp Trek. He was very informative, patient, high professional and even taught us some Nepali. Because our entire trip to Nepal was spent trekking, we were so happy to have Himalayan Glacier and Iswor to tell us stories of his life and life of the Nepali people that we would otherwise not have experienced. Iswor treated us like family. We felt like he cared more for us and our wellbeing, than any other guide we saw on the trek. My experience and impression of Nepal is in the highest regard, much due to Iswor. We met an English doctor on the plane on my way home, and he is planning on trekking in Nepal. we immediately gave him Himalayan Glacier agency , Iswor’s name and other information. After telling him our experience with Iswor and his company, he was impressed and wants to contact them when it is time to trek. we plan on always recommending Iswor and his company to friends that want to trek in Nepal.

Jayant – trek to Everest Base Camp

jayant-at-denaliToday April 24 is the rest day at Namche Bazaar (11300 ft) – we hiked up 2600 feet yesterday after crossing the Hillary Bridge. Boy that was a steep hike!

On April 22, we finally got out of Kathmandu to Lulka airport. When you get a chance, go to maps.google.com, find Lukla, Nepal, and watch the landing at Lukla airport to appreciate what the pilots need to do to get us there. Brian from our group is a pilot, and even he was impressed.

Everest Region Trek 2009 – Jim Marx

While visiting my son Nick in Vietnam in November, I took a side trip for a 15 day trek in the Everest region of Nepal.  I flew to Kathmandu, and on to Lukla to begin the trek.  I hiked for 7 days to reach elevations over 5,000 meters or 16,000 feet.  For the next five days I hiked around those elevations to the Everest Base camp, Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters or 18, 188 feet, over the Cho La Pass, and up Gokyo Ri.  From Gokyo Ri there is a spectacular view of four of the world’s six highest mountains including a great view of Mt. Everest.  The last three days were spent hiking back down to Lukla for a flight back to Kathmandu.  It was a great experience that I highly recommend.

Thank you very much for organized our Everest base camp trek!

A friend and I planned a two weeks trip to Nepal which mainly included trekking coupled with a quick visit to Pokhara. This was a trip planned at the eleventh hour, but thanks to Himalayan Glaciers, it was well customized and perfectly organized. I highly recommend this agency, in particular, Naba (Sales Manager) as in my opinion, he is a ideal contact to have in a foreign country such as Nepal.

Our guides Tulsi and Phiroz were very accommodating, uplifting and most importantly, experienced and knowledgeable. At 5,000 metres, I showed signs of altitude sickness. This was quickly recognized and well managed by Tulsi and Phiroz. I am thankful to have been in their care for they helped ensure my trip to be memorable and safe.
