The government has decided to open 104 new peaks for mountaineering on Wednesday.
According to Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTA), the ministry also decided to promote mountains less than 5,800 meters as trekking peaks.
“By opening such more new peaks, the government believes that mountaineering activities will be developed and promoted in smooth way,” MoCTA said in a press statement today.
Meanwhile, the Ministry decided to exclude 16 mountains from the list of total mountains open for mountaineering.
Now, with the addition of 104 peaks, 310 mountains are open for mountaineering in Nepal.
