The Embassy of Nepal felicitated Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Fahd at a function held in Riyadh recently and took the opportunity to promote tourism in the Himalayan Kingdom. Prince Bandar, who scaled Mt. Everest on May 19, 2012, praised the natural beauty of Nepal and thanked the people of Nepal for making his mountaineering experience successful. He screened a video of his climbing Mt. Everest and explained how he succeeded in climbing the highest mountain in the world within a short span of time.
Ambassador of Nepal Udaya Raj Pandey presented a letter of honor and memento to the prince and applauded his achievement. He highlighted the excellent relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of people to people contact. “Apart from high level visits, I am very hopeful that the visits of the people from both sides regardless of their purpose, such as recreation, education etc. will ultimately strengthen relations between the two nations,” he said. Deputy Chief of Mission Harishchandra Ghimire welcomed the guests and highlighted the tourism attractions of Nepal.
Second Secretary Kul Bahadur Magar emphasized the shared responsibilities of all to preserve and promote the Himalayan ranges, including its highest peaks.
