The Nepal-Africa Film Festival-2014 kicked off at Russian Cultural Centre in the capital from Tuesday.
The College of Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC) has organized the festival that will run for three days.
As per the screening schedule, two Nepalese and eight African films will be screened on the occasion.
Director at the Nepal-Africa Film Festival Manju Mishra said that the main objective of organizing the festival is to prepare the ground for the Nepali Film Festival to be held in Africa. Such festivals will help in the promotion of two-way tourism in Nepal and Africa.
The Nepal Students´ Union president and lawmaker Ranjit Karna inaugurated the festival amid a function today.
The films Touki Bouki of Senegal, Rahadani of Nepal and The Green Dream of Uganda were screened today.
