Kathmandu, Lukla, Gokyo, Everest, Island Peak

I wanted to thank Himalayan Glacier for the unforgettable trek that you provided 6 clients (me included) to Island Peak in October 2011. My first contact with Himalayan Glacier was Tony Monaco. I could tell right away that I had called the right company to arrange and guide the trek. Tony helped me with every question with great patience, and he was the reason that I settled on Himalayan Glacier. Please pass that on to Tony, with my thanks.

Also, I wanted to ask you to thank our guide, Ashish, for me. He was always kind, and helpful, and I could not imagine having a better guide. The assistant guides (Mekhraj and Mingma) were also top-notch, as were the porters (whose names I forgot). Please tell Tony, Ashish, Mekhraj, and Mingma

@Rum Doodle
This is most of our group (Douglas is not present), posing at the Rum Doodle, a restaurant in Kathmandu. Its walls and ceiling are all covered with Yeti footprint-shaped cardboard cutouts with the destinations, and membership of the expedition members. It is a tradition to leave your signature here, started by Sir Edmund Hillary. We proudly display ours.

Here’s a good picture of a guy a few feet from the summit of Island Peak. The “summit ridge” runs behind him about 300 yards, and the wall is the near cliff to the left of that.
