Investment in Hotel increases in Sauraha

Investment has been increasing in Sauraha, a major tourism spot in Chitwan district.

As law and order has seen improvement, entrepreneurs have especially started to invest tens of millions of rupees in hotel business.

In less than two months of a hotel opening along with casino at a cost of Rs 100 million, another hotel with modern facilities named Landmark Forest Park has come into operation at Baghmara of Sauraha at a cost of Rs 150 million.

The hotel has been run by the Samrat Group of Pokhara, which has been running a star Hotel Landmark in Pokhara for the past seven yeaRs

The group will soon run Land Mark hotels in Kathmandu and Lumbini in coming days and expand its network, said hotel’s General Manager Sharad Pradhan.

The Hotel Landmark in Chitwan at Sauraha is claimed to be with modern services. It has 52 air-conditioned rooms and tourists will be charged Rs 95 to Rs 115 per room, said hotel CEO Narayan Pandey.

He also said Nepalese will be given 60 percent discount. The hotel is already booked from various countries for the next one month.

The proprietor of the hotel has said local materials will be used and locals will be prioritized in employment in the hotel.

There are now two dozen hotels of more than Rs 10 million investments among 100 modern hotels in all and investment is increasing, said Regional Hotel Association, Sauraha.

Sauraha of Chitwan is the third main tourism site after Kathmandu and Pokhara in Nepal, and tourists coming here are allured in viewing wild life.

Main features here are elephant safari, jeep safari, camel safari, elephant bath, sun-set view at Rapti river, Elephant Breeding Centre and one-horn rhino in Chitwan National Park and Tharu culture.

Entrepreneurs have been providing all services to the tourists in packages.
