KATHMANDU, June 7 : Bhutan Air on Saturday launched its inaugural flight to Nepal. It will operate regular flights from June 16 with two flights a week. This is the third international destinations of the private airlines of Bhutan after Kolkota and Bankok.
Tashi Air, the company that operates Bhutan Air was established in 2011 and started its international flights in October 2013 flying to Bankok. The Airbus A319 has 122 seating capacity with eight seats in business class, 36 in premium economy and 78 seat in economy class.
The airlines company has said Society Travel is the official representative and General Sales Agent for Bhutan Airlines in Nepal. Speaking at the inaugural program here in Kathmandu after the airbus landed in Kathmandu, chairman of Society Travel Rabi Chandra Singh said that the airlines would introduce competitive fare in the market and enhance the air travel connectivity between Nepal and Bhutan.
