New Delhi was designed by an architect Sir Edwin Lutyen under the British between 1911 and 1931. Old Delhi was founded in 1639 by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, who also built TajMahal in Agra. The huge rampart of Red Fort can be seen from the road leading to old Delhi. Asia’s largest the Jama mosque is located in proximity. Old Delhi is often called as walled city. Very famous market ChandniChawk market is frequented by thousands of people every day though area is congested and chaotic but still retains its culture from ancient past. Rickshaw ride through narrow hives of lanes in this area is preferred way to experience the lives of old Delhi. One must go to visit the massive Red fort that was built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan and the Jama Mosque.

Agra was once the imperial seat of Mughal Empire. TajMahal makes Agra a great international attraction. Agra is blessed with three UNESCO world heritage site such as TajMahal, Agra Fort and FatehpurSikri. TajMahal is an iconic monument and most visited amongst all in India. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in 16th century with the help of 20,000 workers in 22 years. It was made of white marble brought up from Makarana near Jodhpur. TajMahal is one of the wonders of the world. Agra fort has its own historical significance made of red sand stone where Emperor Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his own son Aurangajeb. He spent last eight years of his life in Red Fort looking at TajMahal through river Yamuna. At a distance of 40 km away from Agra, FatehpurSikri is also visited by tourists often called as abandoned city. The history, inlay work, intricate carving on the best of marble on Taj is notable, which epitomizes that how much love and passion Mughals had for art and architecture.

Jaipur – Pink city of Rajasthan

Jaipur is situated 260 km away from New Delhi in Rajasthan state on the western side of India. Jaipur is popularly known as pink city of Rajasthan. It was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. It offers amazing range of tourist attractions such as Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, HawaMahal, Jantar-Mantar, City Palace, JalMahal and Nahargarh Fort. Amer Fort is a prime attraction of Jaipur located at 11 km away from the city on a hill was built by Raja Man Sing I. It is blend of Hindu and Rajput architectural style. Palace inside the fort, courtyard, garden, Sheesh Mahal or mirror Palace along with visit to Dewan-E-Aam or A hall of public audience and Diwan-E-Khas or A Hall of private audience is remarkable. It is made of red sand stone and marble. Another famous attraction of Jaipur is HawaMahal or Palace of Wind was designed in the form of crown of Hindu God the Lord Krishna. It has got more than 900 small windows on the five storey structure of beehive’s shape. Nahargarh Fort is an astounding fort situated atop Aravali hills get stunning overlooking view of Jaipur city that twinkles during the night like a diamond. An artificial village called ChawkiDhani near Jaipur is also a worth visiting while in Pink city.
