KATHMANDU: The Changu Narayan Temple will be declared plastic-free on Friday.
Changu Narayan Development Committee and The Gen Nep-Nation First, a youth network are declaring the temple premises plastic-free from tomorrow.
The announcement will be made under the ‘No thanks, I carry my own bag’ campaign, according to a press release issued today by the Himalayan Climate Initiate.
All the plastics from the temple area would be collected and removed from the campaign.
The temple area currently has an excessive amount of plastics and declaring it a plastic-free zone is a need of the hour, said Chakradharananda Rajopadhyaya, a priest of the Temple.
