We cover Yangon, Mandalay, U Bein Bridge, Shwedagon, Mingue and Ava ancient cities, MountPopa, Kalaw, Pindaya cave temple, Lake inle, local markets, Shan Plateau, local food, traditional hill-tribes, local train ride and a beautiful beach extension throughout this tour.

Arrive in Yangon, the capital of Burma and after refreshment follow a scenic sunset boat cruise on the Rangoon River. Then make your excursion into street-life and architecture of Yangon. Depart for a fascinating and unusual train journey on the Rangoon circular line. The slow local train completes a loop through the suburbs and outlying villages providing an original and ‘behind the scenes’ view of local life and Rangoon city – a great introduction to Burma. Take a stroll through the picturesque Kandawgyi Lake Gardens before a sunset visit to the incredible Shwedagon Temple – Burma’s most sacred and awe inspiring sites.

Take a morning flight to Mandalay and explore its nearby ancient city-the former 14th to 19th century capital of Ava (Inva). Discover the ruined city, temples and villages by horse and cart before a sunset visit to the iconic U Bein Bridge – reputed for the longest wooden bridge in the world.

Get an afternoon boat trip up the Irrawaddy to the spectacular nearby site of Mingun for chance to shot the picturesque riverside ruins of the ancient city and temples. Depart by boat down the Irrawaddy River to Bagan, the historic and the ancient city. Visit to the site of the ruined 11th to 13th century capital – still containing over 2,000 chedis, stupas, pagodas scattered across a riverside plain and certainly one of the most incredible sites of South East Asia. Furthermore, visit by pony and trap to the temples, to the country lanes and capture the sunrise view.

While leaving for Shan Plateau, stop at Mount Popa – one of the country’s most sacred sites located on the summit of an extinct volcano which rises dramatically from the plains below. Hike through the surrounding hills to visit one of the local Paluang hill-tribe villages; a scenic walk, mountain views, visit to the village and meet some of its friendly inhabitants! Furthermore, walk through the picturesque countryside of the Shan Plateau and visit the spectacular Shwe Umin cave temples.

Transfer to Nyaungshwe – gateway town to the famous Inle Lake. Take a boat trip around the picturesque lake including visits to: a lakeside village market, a traditional hand rolling cheroot factory, a fascinating lotus weaving project and the unusual floating gardens. Walk across the lake and visit the site of a ruined Shan city – known as the ‘Shan Bagan’ – where myriad ruined stupas dot the lush vegetation.

Before returning to Rangoon, enjoy completely with the beauty of Inle Lake. Himalayan Glacier enhances to capture the rich history, vibrant contemporary culture, a bewildering ethnic mix, unique food and varied sceneries of Burma in this trip.
