I recently trekked to Everest Base Camp and Kala Pathar organised by Himalayan Glacier – an amazing experience start to finish. Leading up to arrival in Kathmandu, the staff kept me informed and communicated all the details professionally and timely manner.
From the moment I was warmly received at Kathmandu airport by my guide Rishi Bhantana I knew I had made the right decision choosing Himalayan Glacier. His courteous and friendly gestures made the jet lag disappear at once.
I have not been good in taking six months to reply to your email. I just wanted to thank everyone for making this trip a trip to remember and a trip of a lifetime. From the beginning, I was impressed by the professionalism and excellent service displayed by everyone on your team, without exception. The trek itself was a great experience, and it was made even more so by Basu and his team of guides and porters. Basu is an excellent trek leader, and his ability to adapt and make allowances for the needs of the entire group was evident from Day One. He and his team were always looking out for us and making sure that everyone was taken care of. The trek left me with an incredibly positive of the people of Nepal and the country. I will be back for another trek and can only wish that it is with the same group of people who took me on my first trek in the Himalayas.
The Langtang Trek was perfect for us! We knew it would be: from the information from your website and from email communication with Sangita, we felt very prepared for the trip after meeting you on Day 1.
We had the best experience trekking up to Kyanjin Gompa, with excellent help from our wonderful guide Pradip and porter Prakas. I think we were extra lucky by being the only two people on this tour, as it became a private trip for us. Pradip was looking after our needs every step of the way, and always going beyond expectations in caring for us. The entire time we felt like a King & Queen! They even woke extra early for us to walk out for a sunrise view of the Himalayas near Kyanjin Ri and brought extra snacks along for us. We took this photo that morning:
We’re already considering what our next Nepal trek might be, and will be thinking of Himalayan Glacier Trekking for that too.
On behalf of the whole team, Himalayan Glacier would like to congratulate its President and Founder, Mr. Sagar Pandey for successfully acquiring the position of General Secretary of the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN).
An election was held by TAAN on 20th September 2013 which led to Mr. Pandey’s successful win as the new General Secretary, a position he will be holding for a period of two years.
Our team has always been impressed with Mr. Sagar Pandey’s dedication to his work, and recognition of this kind is well deserved. We are sure that your achievement will make a positive difference in the Tourism of Nepal and Mountain Tourism in particular. Well done!
I arrived in Kathmandu in March 2013, knowing that I wanted to undertake the adventurous Kanchenjunga trek but with nothing booked and only one week to arrange the trip. A friend recommended Himalayan Glacier and from the minute I stepped into the office, everything seemed possible. The options available were explained to me clearly, with my time frame and budget being taken into account. The Himalayan Glacier office became the epicenter of my time in Kathmandu, and the executive director, Naba Raj Amgai, made me very welcome there at all times.
The company had at their service a guide, Pasang Sherpa, who specialized in the Kanchenjunga route. His help and patience in hiring the necessary gear was invaluable. Pasang¹s good humour and joviality made the trek a real pleasure. He was always available to help communication flow smoothly between myself and local people. He was very supportive in helping me across challenging terrain, and went to great lengths to make sure I was comfortable and had all I needed. It was obvious that my safety was his paramount concern, and I felt very well looked after.
We are a group of 3 women that did a 16 days trek in the Annapurna Circuit from the 3rd to the 19th July 2013 and through this letter we would like to thank you for the service provided by your company.
We would like to especially mention the excellent work performed by our guide-porter Tony. He was very professional at all times looking after us and making us feel cared about. He also provided interesting information on the flora, fauna, cultural aspects, etc. when requested and spontaneously. Even if we had the freedom to choose what we wanted to do during the trek, Tony was always helping us with his experienced knowledge to make the best or more appropriate decisions. Whenever any tense situation arose he was keeping calm and helping the team to stay in the same way. In addition Tony has been a good company after the trekking hours sharing time with us while eating and resting in the lodges. Regarding his English knowledge, we felt it was good enough to have a proper communication. At all times he was a very patient and respectful person both towards us and the local community.
Hoping that this information can be useful both for you and Tony we leave our sincere regards.
