“it was such an extraordinary adventure”- Everest Base Camp Trek
August 26, 2008

In reviewing those highlights most people would expect us to wax poetically about the beautiful wooded countryside on the way to Namche. Also who could forget the scary crossings of those wonderfully engineered suspension bridges replete with their colorful prayer flags billowing in the breeze while far below the rapidly flowing bluish-tinged glacier water (of the Dudh Khosi and Imja Khola rivers), twisted its way from up high, framed by steep cliffs on either side. Others would expect us to dwell on the Yaks, those magnificent creatures, unknown to most Westerners, that can only survive in the rarified atmosphere in and above Namche and that are so important to the local economy. Langtang, Manaslu, Everest Trek & Tibet Overland tour
August 25, 2008
Ms Conny and Mr Patrick arrived in Nepal on 9th February 2007 and did several treks and tours in Nepal and Tibet. First two days they spent in Kathmandu for preparation and adjustment and they flew to Lukla from where Everest Base Camp trek start. After 17 days great Everest Trek they returned Kathmandu. After 3 days rest in Kathmandu they started Langtang Circuit Trek. They did exciting two weeks trek is known as the “Trekkers Paradise of Nepal” because it offers some of the most captivating cultural encounters and exceptional diversity of scenery available in Nepal After unbelievable Langtang Circuit trek they started AROUND MANASLU. This trek around Manaslu is a true classic traveling into one of the most remote regions of Nepal. Many consider it to be the best trekking route in all the Himalayas. This Challenging trek is spectacular, both geographically and culturally. Everest Base Camp and Langtang Circuit Trek they did lode to lodge trek but this trek they did full bard tent to tent camping trek.![]() |

Before they went to Lhasa overland tour they went 3 days Chitwan National park for jungle safari and they did fantastic Elephant safari. Royal Chitwan National Park, the oldest National Park in Nepal, is situated in the sub-tropical inner Terai lowlands of South-Central Nepal. The Park was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1984.
Himalayan Glacier Trekking organized their 5th trip Kathmandu to Lhasa overland tour. The drive from Katmandu to Lhasa over spectacular Passes and revealing views of the majestic Himalayas, takes seven days over the “Friendship Highway”. The drive is well worth it as you encounter some enchanting Buddhist monasteries, highest mountain of the world (Mt. Everest) and remote villages untouched by modern civilization. While approaching the city you will be able to notice the Potala Palace, a vast white and ochre fortress that dominates the Lhasa skyline, en route we will stop for one night in Everest Base Camp (Ronbuk). Beside the Everest Base Camp, the will by pass through the major highlighted places of Tibet, Nyalam, Shigatse & Gyantse the historical seat of Tibetan power and the location of the tombs of previous Dalai Lamas, the Potala Palace has been reduced to serve as a symbolic feature for Tibetan aspirations.
Evaluation of HGT after Everest Base Camp Trek
August 25, 2008
After looking at many trekking companies, we decided to go with Himalayan Glacier Trekking, which was based in Thamel in Kathmandu. As soon as we made an enquiry Naba and his staff were very helpful and organised a highly enjoyable trek.
We were a bit apprehensive at first about going trekking in Nepal, but Naba and his staff provided us with all the information we required, exceeding our expectations. Naba would often ring us up to answer any urgent questions straight away, and his email correspondence was always very clear and detailed.
We booked our flights in and landed in Kathmandu 2 days before the start of our trek. Naba had booked us into a very nice hotel right in the middle of the tourist district (Thamel) in downtown Kathmandu.
Naba and the guide we had been assigned, Prakash, met us at the airport and took us to the hotel. We spent the day settling in, with Prakash helping us to find all the right equipment we needed for our trek. We had dinner with them that night where they explained everything about the trek, and eased our last minute fears.
The day before we were to set off Prakash took us all arounf Kathmandu to the main tourist sites. It was a very enjoyable day and a great way to get to know our guide, who we would be with for the next 2 weeks. This was a great feature (free of charge) of the trek granted by HG Trek, as it gave us time to get to know our guide as the company put their customers enjoyment at the fore and make sure the guide is suited to the trekkers.
Prakash spoke English very well, was always polite and very patient with us. Everything before during, and after the trek was organised meticulously.
The trek itself was thoroughly enjoyable; Prakash always made sure our needs were met. Being my first time away from home, Prakash would always let me use his mobile phone to call my family back in Australia. I cannot speak highly enough of our guide and the company he represents. Our porter, which the company assigned, was a quiet, but very nice young man.
If I ever go back to trek in Nepal again, I will not hesitate in contact Himalayan Glacier Trekking. They are friendly, reliable, and will give you an amazing, and most of all fun experience that you won’t forget.

Gokyo and Everest Base Camp trek was spectacular
August 25, 2008
Namaste!
Megan and I thoroughly enjoyed the Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp trek. You and the staff at Himalayan Glacier Trekking were flawless in your treatment of us as guests to your country. Yes, the Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp trek was spectacular. It exceeded our expectations. As a 67-year-old male with trepidation, fortunately I was able to successfully navigate the trails and altitude. Homnath the guide, and “Luck” the porter, were not only good company, but were very personable, safety conscious, and knowledgeable of the trails, environment and Sherpa culture.

In Kathmandu, the Shanker Hotel was spectacular, and the Hotel Encounter was more than satisfactory. We appreciated the complimentary tour of Kathmandu. Also, it was a surprise for us and the others on the tour to learn that at most of the tour stops, there was a mandated entrance fee only for foreign tourists–no cost for the local citizens.
We would highly recommend Himalayan Glacier Trekking for anyone seeking a cost effective and professional trekking company in Nepal or surrounding countries. We will be advertising your company to various hiking/trekking groups in our area. In the next few days, we will be emailing you some of the photos we took on the trek.
Warm regards,
Rich & Megan McDrew

My trip to Nepal was such a great experience
August 25, 2008
My trip to Nepal was such a great experience.
Thanks to the perfect organisation of HGT! All the people involved in the organisation, staff, guides, porters etc. are very professional. Above all, they have one thing on their mind: THE CLIENT
A good preparation of a trek is very important. It starts at home, with choosing a trekking-agency. From the first e-mail on, HGT felt as a very well organised organisation. They promised to call back within 24 hours. And they did! The communication with HGT is perfect, they do as they say and they always did as they promised.

Trip of a Life Time
August 25, 2008
They say Everest base camp trek, a trip of a Life Time… but it’s not just the destination but the people around you that help to make it so…

After 9 nights we made it to Everest Base Camp, totally incredible all the way. Then 4 nights back to Lukla (a night early as the weather was changing). We said our sad goodbyes to our porter team then flew back to Kathmandu with Thakur (looking forward to a really hot shower). The trip ended with a celebration dinner, followed by more sad goodbyes to my team mates and Himalayan Glacier team.
I had an amazing time and when asked, would I do this Everest base camp trek again, the answer was YES! Especially with Himalayan Glacier Trekking.

Island peak climbing was great
August 25, 2008
Namaste to all of you in Nepal. I wish to thank you for the wonderful services provided to me during my stay in Nepal and Island Peak climbing. I am finally home again in the United States and getting back to my normal life. I’m sorry it’s been some time since I’ve gotten a chance to email, but it’s been very busy here.

I hope all went well with your elections and everybody is happy. I see that Nepal is now a republic. I am writing this email to thank you and review the Island Peak expedition. I must say I was nothing more than pleased with the guide services provided to me by Himalayan Glacier , my trekking leader Bimal Thapa and climbing leader Man Bahadur. Bimal was always considered my needs and was in great shape as well.
He was very flexible in scheduling our days, because some days we were a very fast team, and were easily able to travel further than the suggested ittinerary. He was also very resourcefull when it came to knowing the names of the mountains in the area and other advice I needed. I feel that he did a great job selecting lodges along the trek that were comfortable and hospitable.

I felt that Bimal was more of a friend to me than a guide which made traveling alone very nice. All the logistics of the trip went well as far as food, lodging, dates, and other arrangements went. I am pleased with the fact that you were able to make such a custom itinerary such as the sightseeing tour I got to go on in Kathmandu instead of two days of rock climbing. The porter that was arranged did a fine job as well.
Man was very a very safe and patient climbing guide. He was good at setting a pace that the entire group was comfortable with. There were no technical difficulties on our climb, however he did a great job assisting some of the lesser experienced climbers achieve the summit. The food at base camp was my favorite part of the whole trip. The staff that put together our meals there did a fantastic job and I’d really like to thank them for their services! I really have no complaints worth writing that happened during my Island PEAK Climbing with Himalaya Glacier Trekking.
In short I can say you really took care of me. Look forward to meeting you guys again soon. Hope all is well and take care.
